Hi Aerobatic People,
I see there's a Pitts S1-S for sale on trademe at present, 150hrs TT.
Built 1993 and imported to NZ 2002. I'm looking at the possibility of syndicating it (assuming it passes the various sniff tests) and getting some currently frustrated pilots back into competition flying again.
What I have in mind is a group of about 6 or 7 owners who would operate it, nominally basing it in Auckland but allowing it to go for extended periods to outlying owners (for a month or so at a go) provided hangarage was provided. The machine should easily cope with advanced and the foolhardy could tool around with unlimited.
In the past it's been apparent that syndicates greatly prefer 2 seat machines, as would I. However the fact of the matter is that the price of a good 2 seater is beyond the reach of many aerobatic pilots. The singles on the other hand go for a comparative song and the operating costs are similarly reduced. The aircraft is for sale at $45k so that price split among a few people should be exceptionally manageable.
Please let me know if you or anyone you know might be interested in this aircraft, otherwise sorry for the spam!
Thanks
Terry
